As I said our dream when we moved to Canada from the UK was to have the opportunity to explore Canada. Then reality set in:
- Canada is huge – I remember when we first arrived in Calgary looking at what was in a 3 hour drive of us and being amazed at how little of Alberta that was.
- To do a proper explore you need time, not a few weeks but months – Having jobs, kids and other commitments we could not attempt a big trip till the kids were independent.
- Getting old sucks – We had intended to throw a tent in the car and just drive but now sleeping on the ground and roughing it was far less appealing.
So after 20 years in Canada and we are just starting to plan the trip we had always intended on doing…
