Today was almost entirely about covering ground — one of our longest planned hauls of the trip. We rolled out of Quetico and pointed the truck toward Falcon Beach in Whiteshell, nearly 500 km away, a ten‑hour day overall with about seven and a half hours of actual driving. It wasn’t the kind of day that flies by — it was the tedious, eyes‑getting‑heavy sort of haul where you’re constantly shifting in your seat, cracking the window, and doing whatever it takes to stay alert as the kilometres grind past.

Falcon Beach campground turned out to be enormous and absolutely packed. We backed into our site, decided not to bother unhitching, and left the truck and trailer coupled to save time and energy. The one real perk: full hookups. After a long day of road dust and highway hum, unlimited hot water felt like luxury. We both took showers before bed and called it a night.
